What is LitChat?
LitChat is a fun, fast, and friendly way for booklovers to talk about books on Twitter. We chat on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 4-5 pm (est). Read the LitChat blog to see what we are chatting about each week.
You must be a member of Twitter to participate in the litchats. If you’re not already a Twitter member, you may join here, then follow us at LitChat.
When posting a tweet into the litchat stream, please use the hashtag like this: #litchat. This will ensure that everyone following the litchat can see your posts through a filtering application.
We recommend following the chat through TweetChat. TweetChat is a website into which you log in with your Twitter user data, then you enter a chatroom. To enter the litchat, simply type #litchat into the room field. One of the cool features TweetChat offers is automatic addition of the hashtag (#litchat), so you won’t forget typing it into the 140-character field.
LitChat uses TweetDeck for general use. This is an application that you download to your harddrive that allows for easy navigation of your Twitter feed.
Here’s a couple of terrific blog posts about participating in Twitter chats:
